Quarterly Total Factor Productivity

Seasonally-adjusted Quarterly Total Factor Productivity in Canada

The seasonally-adjusted quarterly total factor productivity (TFP) in Canadian business sector is built by extending the method of measuring annual aggregate productivity by Diewert and Yu (2012). The estimated quarterly TFP is not adjusted for capacity utilization.

Previously, Sharon Kozicki and I estimated the seasonally unadjusted series of quarterly TFP, these data are not maintained and not updated. Link to the paper.

Acknowledgement: Special thanks to Professors W. Erwin Diewert and Alice O. Nakamura. I learned productivity measurement from them. They of course are not liable for any error and quality of the data series.
